The Role

Macquarie University Health is currently seeking a dynamic, confident, and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care/Coronary Care Unit. This 20-bed unit provides specialist care across Adult Neurosurgery, including cerebrovascular, general neurosurgery, and spinal surgery, as well as cardiothoracic surgery, ENT, plastics, head and neck surgery, and general surgery. As a recognised centre of excellence, the unit also receives acute neurosurgical referrals from hospitals across the state. .

As an experienced practitioner, you will display drive and enthusiasm for the delivery of expert clinical care within ICU/CCU. You will demonstrate a commitment to actively participate in and facilitate ongoing learning and development as well as a commitment to mentoring and the support of an inclusive nurturing work environment.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1-2 page cover letter:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • 2 years’ experience in an Adult Intensive Care or Coronary Care area environment
  • Be able to work unsupervised within ICU/CCU to an advanced
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills
  • Well-developed computer skills including the use of electronic medical records systems, MQ Word, Excel and web-based research
  • Demonstrated ability in assessing, planning and implementing preventative care approaches to health care
  • Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and initiative and work independently and within a team

Role Specific Condition

Note: This position requires you to comply with occupational screening, assessment and vaccinations in line with MQ Health requirements and requires a current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for NSW. You may also have to satisfy MQ Health that you meet all background checks (including criminal record and qualification checks).
